What would it be like if people had a 鈥榬estore default settings鈥?button?

You know, like an operating system on a computer. See, when we first get a new computer, it has default settings and as we use it we change the settings to suit our requirements. This is like people; people are born with default settings and as we grow and experience the roller coaster of life, the default settings are changed. Religion is probably one of the greatest influences on our operating system settings and is the reason some people鈥檚 operating systems become cluttered and force the processor (brain) to carry out unnecessary operations. Even the operating systems of atheists become affected by religion because so many of them spend so much of their lives opposing religion. So, what kind of affect would it have on people if you press a button, remove the influence of religion from their lives and restore their default settings? Would they become like animals or would they become more rational?

Christians do. He's called Jesus.

Generally, restoring default setting also removes whatever positive or desired modifications a person has made.

What you're describing is more like %26quot;virus removal%26quot; and unfortunately, you can't remove a virus from someone who WANTS to be sick (well, you can, but they'll just go and get it again - like VD.)
religion, by definition, IS the operating system. Or at least the internet.

religion= process the world around you.
they'd all go GOOGOO GAGA..and need to have thier diapers changed a few times per day....
It sounds like they would become more rational about how they think about things. And maybe it would get rid of religion. But how could we worship anything without religion and then we wouldn't know what created people or how people appeared here on earth.
Actually DESI.. I think that the religiousness is THE DEFAULT setting.. it is people like you and I who have been able to transcend that aspect of our animality that we can use rationality to override those primitive settings...

Once upon a time they were helpfull.. but now they are obsolete.. unfortunately many are still running in DOS mode!

We cant change our hardware but we can install new programs.. The Christians have been inflicted with a virus (spyware) that does not allow then to format their computers and reinstall everything... many are buggered like that.. and just have to cope.. they cope by hunting in packs and spreading their malware around the globe.... get ready for it when it comes to your doorstep in the form of WYD!!!! LMAO - I'm glad I aint in the same state as YOU!!! (you an always come over to mine! actually you wont like it either.. too many churches!?)
